Awkward Materiality, 2014

Through processes of photography, geometric translations, simulation and digital fabrication a series of translations or variations of an original material are produced. The quality of awkward materiality or "märklig materialitet" can be understood as an instability in the reading of a material, where the material oscillates between physical materiality and image or representation of (another) material.
